David Turner has been a professional picture framer in Belfast for over 35 years. Starting as a fresh-faced 19-year-old in a well-known gallery on the Upper Lisburn Road, David spent eight years learning his profession, becoming a specialist in framing. Over the next five years, David worked for an established commercial framing gallery in Belfast City Centre where he developed his skills and knowledge, bringing his advice and experience to an increasingly wide range of customer needs. This included providing advice to collectors and interior designers as well as providing a friendly service to customers wishing to buy art and limited edition prints for their homes. David obtained BA Honours and MFA Degrees in Fine Art from Ulster University between 2001 and 2006. This new knowledge allowed David to broaden his experience to offer freelance services to a number of established galleries and framers in Belfast and further afield. In 2009, David gained his Guild Commended Framer professional qualification in Picture Framing from The Fine Art Trade Guild. A passionate art collector with a lifelong interest in contemporary painting, David continues to run Turner Framing alongside his newly established contemporary art gallery on the Ravenhill Road. The Turner Gallery & Framing focuses on original contemporary Irish art, supporting emerging and established artists and introducing their work to a wider audience.
